Customize posts
How do you customize posts on the WordPress app?
The Post Settings section enables you to control how posts appear within your app. You can choose from multiple options to determine the layout and appearance of your app’s post screens.
Navigate to Posts from the sidebar and manage your post screens with the following options:
Render as Web view - Enable this option to show your posts in a web view interface. Enabling web view is recommended if your website has custom features or functionality added to posts or if posts don’t appear in the app as expected. Disabling this feature will launch a native and faster view.
Show Search icon in header - Enable this toggle to enable your app users to search for a post by entering a query. If you turn on the toggle in this section, a search icon will appear in the native post listing page and post category page, allowing your app users to search for posts. Disable this option to hide the search icon from appearing.
Show as grid -Enable this option to show your posts in a grid view. Disabling this will show your posts in a list view.
Show published date -Enable this toggle to show the publication date of each post.
Image ratio - Define the image aspect ratio for your posts. Select a suitable image ratio corresponding to your image.
Image shape - Define the preferred shape of your post images.
Centre crop images - When enabled, your images will be centred within the image frame for a consistent look. When disabled, images will be displayed to fit the frame while maintaining their original aspect ratios.
The following options will decide the layout of the post details screen:
Show author - Enable to display the author's name. The name of the author will appear at the bottom of the title.
Show published date -Enable to show the publication date of the post. The published date will be displayed at the bottom of the title.
Show categories - Enable to display post categories, which will be displayed at the top of the page.
Show tags - Enable to display of tags associated with the post. Tags help organize your content for a better user experience.
Show additional information - Enable to showcase the attributes and associated details about the post.
Show related posts - Enable to showcase similar posts beneath the current post, providing app users with additional content of interest. If you turn this toggle on, you can decide how to filter related posts: by author, categories, featured or tags.
Hit the SAVE button once you have made the changes.
