How does audience segmentation work for rich push notifications?

Along with creating rich push notifications, AppMySite enables you to do a ton of audience segmentation. In the Audiences tab of the Rich notifications feature, you can create different audience segments as per your preferences.

Here’s how it works:

  • Navigate to Notifications > Rich notifications from your app dashboard and click on the Audiences tab.

  • You will find a group of premade segments. To create your own segment, click on Create.

  • Give your segment a name.

  • Next, you’ll find a set of filters using which you can create a segment. These filters are:

    • First session: Filter users based on when their first session occurred.

    • Last session: Filter users based on when their last session occurred.

    • Session count: Select users based on the number of app sessions they have initiated.

    • Total duration: Segment users based on the total duration that have been on the app.

    • Language: Filter users based on their device’s default language.

    • App version: Filter users based on the app version they’re on. You can use this filter to ask users to update their apps by segmenting users with the older version.

    • Location: Segment users based on location. Enter the latitude and longitude of your target location and enter the radius (in meters). There is no upper limit on the radius.

    • Country: Filter users based on their country.

  • Click on Create when you’re done.

  • While sending your rich notification, you can choose the audience you’ve created. This way, you can send notifications to a targeted segment as per your preferences.

Audience segmentation is a great way to customize your notifications based on your target audience.
