A Certificate Signing Request (CSR) contains the necessary details required by a certificate authority to generate your certificate. This includes your account name, organization name, country name, and other relevant information.
Follow these steps to generate a CSR on Mac OS:
Open Launchpad on your Mac OS.
Navigate to the Others folder.
Open Keychain Access.
Click on Keychain Access > Certificate Assistant > Request a Certificate From a Certificate Authority.
The Certificate Assistant window will open.
Enter the User Email Address and Common Name.
The CA Email Address field is optional—leave it blank if not required.
Select Saved to disk as the request method.
Add a unique name for your certificate and click Save.
Locate the saved certificate by clicking Show in Finder.
You will need to upload this file when generating an iOS Distribution Certificate in your Apple Developer Account.
