Remove app store listing
How to remove your app listing from App Store?
If you want to remove or unpublish your iOS app from the Apple App Store, you can do so using your App Store Connect account. Follow the steps below to complete the process:
Step 1: Sign in to App Store Connect
Go to App Store Connect and log in with your Apple Developer account credentials.
Step 2: Select the app you want to remove
On the My Apps screen, locate and click on the app you wish to remove from the App Store.
Step 3: Remove the app from sale
Navigate to the App Information section.
Scroll down to Availability and Pricing.
Click Edit next to App Availability.
Uncheck all the countries and regions where your app is currently available.
Click Save to confirm the changes.
Once these steps are completed, your app will no longer be available for download on the App Store.
Step 4: Remove the app permanently (Optional)
If you want to completely remove your app from App Store Connect, follow these steps:
Navigate to App Information in App Store Connect.
Scroll down to the Additional Information section.
Click on Remove App to request permanent removal from your account.
Removing an app permanently means it cannot be restored or resubmitted in the future.
Step 5: Confirm the status change
Your app's status will change to Developer Removed from Sale in App Store Connect.
It will no longer be accessible for new downloads, but users who already downloaded it can still use it.
Important Considerations
Existing users: Users who have already downloaded the app can continue using it even after it is removed from sale.
App data retention: Removing the app from the store does not delete user data or app settings.
Restoring the app: If you plan to relist the app, you can update its availability settings in App Store Connect. However, if you permanently remove the app, you cannot restore it.
Compliance with Apple policies: Ensure that removing your app does not violate Apple's Developer Policies, especially if your app is subject to contractual obligations.
Subscription management: If your app offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, removing it may affect users with active subscriptions. Be sure to communicate changes to your users.
By following these steps, you can successfully remove or unpublish your app from the Apple App Store while considering its impact on users and future availability.
