How to test the .APK file on a real Android device
You can install the APK file on an Android device to test your app’s functionality before publishing it to the Google Play Store. Follow the steps below to install and test your APK file.
Step 1: Download the APK file
Navigate to the Download section in your AppMySite account.
Once the build is generated, click Download APK to download the file.
Step 2: Transfer the file to your mobile device
If you downloaded the APK file on a computer, transfer it to your Android device using email, USB, or any file transfer method.
If you downloaded it directly on your Android device, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Enable installation from unknown sources
Open Settings on your Android device.
Go to Security > Device Administration > Unknown Sources.
Turn on the toggle for Unknown Sources to allow app installation from sources other than the Google Play Store.
Enabling installation from unknown sources is necessary to manually install an APK file on an Android device.
Step 4: Install the APK file
Locate the APK file in your device’s storage (usually in the Downloads folder).
Tap on the file to begin installation.
Confirm the installation if prompted.
Step 5: Test your app
Once installed, launch the app and test its features, navigation, and performance.
Ensure that all functionalities, buttons, and pages are working as expected.
Installing the APK file on a real device allows you to test the complete app experience before submitting it to the Play Store.
