How to create posts on my custom app?

A post is a time-stamped article organized through categories, tags, and attributes. The most recent posts appear first.

Follow the steps below to add create a new post to your app:

  • Navigate to the “Post” screen of your app.

  • From the drop-down, select Posts. Click on the “+Create” button on the top right of the screen.

Title

Add a “Title” for your post. You will see the placement of the title in the emulator.

Image

Upload an image to enhance the visual appeal of your content. Adjust the image ratio to your preference. Click on the upload button to select from the various options available. You can choose media from the AppMySite image library. Filter images by their orientation or color or by searching the search box. Click the “Create” button to design an image from scratch using our advanced design editor. For pre-designed images, click “Upload”.

Heading

Highlight important sections with clear and bold headings. Align the heading to the left, centre, or right, as you prefer.

Paragraph

Add a block of text to describe your product or service. Customise this content to make it bold, italics, underline, align, use bullet points, or even add hyperlinks.

Click on “Add section” to add more sections to your post.

Gallery

Showcase multiple images in a creative gallery format. From the drop-down menu, select the number of columns and rows and the image ratio. Upload the images from our library or a pre-designed image. You can also design the images from scratch.

Video:

Upload your video to enhance your post with engaging multimedia content. The formats supported are MP4, MOV, M4V, and 3GP format video, and the video should not exceed 200 MB in size. Alternatively, paste the video link to upload to your post. You can also upload the thumbnail of your video.

Code

Add iframe snippets for interactivity and specialized features.

Button

Insert engaging buttons to direct users and encourage interaction. Buttons can be hyperlinked to an external web page or any post, page email or phone number. Design the button by selecting button colour and text colour.

Attribute

Attributes assist your app users in filtering posts effectively. Use this section to place your attributes. Go to “Settings” to add or remove attributes from your post.

Spacer

Create space between elements for a neat and organized layout. Adjust the space from the drop-down menu after adding a spacer to your post.

Separator

Insert a separator to visually divide different sections of your post. Manage the width of the border and select your preferred colour.

YouTube video

Add captivating videos by pasting the YouTube link here.

Facebook video

Engage your audience with social media content by pasting the Facebook video link here.

Vimeo video

Showcase videos by pasting the Vimeo link in this block.

Any section, except attribute, can be cloned or deleted by expanding the section. You can also re-arrange these sections as per your choice.

Once you have added the sections to your post, you can customize the settings by clicking the “Settings” button in the top menu. This will allow you to customize and organize your posts:

  • Author

From the drop-down menu, select the author you want to display on your post.

  • Thumbnail

Upload your post thumbnail image here. This image will be featured on all pages where this post will appear.

  • Categories

Organize your content efficiently by adding categories. Add new categories from the side menu under Posts. Assign a name to your category, upload an image, and choose the parent category under which it should be classified. If you are creating a new parent category, you can leave the Parent category field empty.

  • Tags

Tags are specific labels that define the context within your posts. You can add a new tag from the side menu or assign an existing tag to your post.

  • Attribute

Specify additional attributes to your posts for a more detailed categorization.

  • Excerpt

Craft a concise and engaging summary or teaser for your post. Keep it brief and captivating to capture attention and generate interest.

  • Publish immediately

Turn the toggle on if you want to publish this post as soon as you add it.

  • Featured post

Turn the toggle on if you want to make this the featured post.

  • Advanced Settings

Customize the post further using toggles to show author name, publish date, category name, tag name and related posts. Additionally, you can enable your app users to filter posts by authors, categories, featured posts or tags.

Click Save draft if you want to revisit this page before publishing. Click the Publish button if you are happy with the page and want to make it live on your app.

Custom posts can only be added to the Custom App solution. For the Web to App, WordPress, and WooCommerce solutions, posts are directly fetched from your website, and therefore cannot be incorporated into these solutions.
